sorry, upfront costs, and MLM are just scams
its similar to a pyramid scheme in some ways
So I happened upon this site awhile ago......www.autoincome.com
Which says it offers A Dealer license, dealer plate, dealer only auto auction access $499 per month
And looked into it a bit. Needless to say I was rather skeptical. Looked into it a bit further, and actually found out its legit. Plenty of referrals, and happy "partners" as they are called.
Just figured I'd throw this out there to anyone that was interested in buying/selling cars, since this is TCL and all
A Dealer license, dealer plate, dealer only auto auction access $499 per month from AutoIncome.com.
Anyone else do something like this? Borrow a friends licence? How'd it work out for you?

Don't get into the used car market right now. It's a total pain in the arse at the moment. Unless you've been doing it for awhile and have a lot of business sense when it comes to used, you'll have a very tough time making money.
I looked into starting a buy here pay here a few years ago, and while it seems super easy on paper, acquiring good cars right now is a total pain.
And capital. You'll need lots of it. I currently have 106 cars in inventory, on an inventory cost of $1.792 million. I have 7 units that are aging (46+ days in stock), and that inventory amount is $120,000 alone. Flooring costs get out of control unless you turn quickly, which is hard to do unless you know how.

This.
I was chatting with the brother of a friend last weekend...he owns a BH/PH lot. Says that is has become increasingly difficult to buy decent cars at auction for prices that he can afford. Unfortunately this means that what's left in the lower cost traunches is generally crap, and he ends up getting bit more frequently than they used to.
I'm thinking of just buying Subarus with blown head gaskets and having a buddy of mine fix them for cheap. Quick work and I could make a big profit here, plus there is no need for any dealer license or anything when you're moving one car at a time.

"This couldn't possibly break, I'll put it way the **** down there." -every German car engineer.
I'm not really too worried about breaking the law to be completely honest. I wouldn't be moving the amount of vehicles that it would be a big deal anyway. I'll probably actually keep the vehicles around for a little while to use them as daily drivers for a bit anyway.

One way to go if you have the skills and connections is to buy cars that are in great shape with one major thing wrong (motor, trans, etc). they are usually only about 1/3rd of their kbb value.
A mechanic friend(30 years experience, currently a shop manager so gets cheap motors/trans/body work) and I were thinking about it since you can legally sell five cars per year without a license, and between me, him, my gf, and his we can legally sell 20 cars per year.
No, it's actually not a scam. I didn't want it to seem like I was plugging the company, but I'm already doing it through there......
Licence/plate/etc all went really well.....
