2007 Jetta 2.5 Tiptronic fluid fill port?

Does anyone know where to fill a 6-speed Tiptronic auto transmission? i have a Bentley manual and it shows a fill tube on the front of the tranny. Mine doesn't have that port with plastic seal and plug. Is it necessary to fill through the level inspection port/plug on the bottom of the pan?

The tiptronic transmission is meant to be a sealed unit, therefore there is no place to fill fluid. The only thing that you can do is change the fluid alond with the filter. Are you having issues? I know some 06 and 07 Passats have had the valve body replaced under warranty due to known hard shifting issues.

I figured it out. Have to fill from the fluid check standpipe port. I wasn't having issues, however no tranny fluid is good for life. I wanted to change the fluid and the filter.

I actually used an outboard motor gear lube pump from walmart with a rubber vacuum plug end over the pump adapter to get fluid back into the tranny. The fluid was really dark but wasn't burned but it had thickened some. I got 3.5 liters out...put 3.5 liters back in. I changed the filter too. it was actually easier to accomplish than is made out to be.

    trans fluid change

doing research here shows a filter in the pan which would have been good to change for sure. some service kits show 7 litres but if anything like older trannys a lot of fluid stays in the converter. i guess theres still one in there!! i a stick guy, easy gear lube change and a clutch job if you keep it long enough or beat it enough it will be sooner than later

Check the thread called "my experience with the 09G transmission" on this forum. You will find everything you need and some.

Also, these are NOT sealed units, the dealers throw this BS at you for one reason or another. Gotta love dealers! Anyways, change the fluid on the 09G as frequently as any other unit. There is no such thing as too frequent with transmission fluid changes. Go for it!
