    MK2 VR6 fuel pump options...........

My MK2 swap has been running on stock digiII 8v pumps for a couple years now but I think the main pump is on the way out. Car doesn't make as much power, sometimes pings under load and in hot conditions I can hear the pump whine. If it gets real bad, like sitting in a drive through for a while it will stumble on acceleration.

Question is, what is the best option for a replacement? I don't really want to change tanks or anything like that. I do have a CIS pump in the garage for my 16v mk1 project. Does this pump drop in or do i have to use the whole accumulator and everything? Any thoughts? Cheers.......

MKIII tank swap is the only way to go. I just(literally minutes ago) finished mine, totally strait forward no problems, and you end up with a far superior set up....no fuel pump housing to crack, two pumps to fail etc.

I picked my tank/pump up for $40 out of a VR jetta.....can't go wrong

Don't really want to change the tanks, like I said.

I am curious about the CIS pump. I want to know if it will fit the digi housing, anyone?

There are several Mk2 CIS, CIS-E and Motronic pump housings, but only 2 CIS, CIS-E/Motronic fuel pump options.
You can use a 52mm or the 60mm fuel pump, but you need to get the proper fuel pump housing that fits the 52mm or 60mm pump.

My 85 Jetta came with a 52mm pump, so that is the pump I use with my 96 VR6 swap.
Did my swap 10 years ago.
