Palo Alto Conours D'elegance(now with Cord content for vwlarry)

Got back from our 43rd annual Palo Alto Concours and decided to share my pics with the car lounge.
    (Sorry the mediocre photography BTW)

If you have any questions about the cars i can probably tell you why i took the pic or why its special.

Fabulous pictures! BTW, my car was on the lawn, in the Audi Corral - so that was a good chance to see it in person
I was wandering about and had to help many of the cars park in the morning since I was also a volunteer there, so you might not have spotted me!

Wow. California is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to terrific automobiles. I doubt if there are enough vintage Porsche in the entire state of Dela(no)ware to use up all six fingers on one of my hands.

It's nice to see you open with lots of beautiful Porsches, and semi-close with lots of Cords. They're the "bookend" cars, IMO. Porsches, with their European, lightweight, aircooled, rear-engined minimalism, and Cords with their American-style heavy-ish, V8/front-wheel-drive extravagance, they both complement each other so beautifully while being diametrically opposite each other in design philosophy, save for one thing. They are both surpassingly beautiful creations that came essentially from the mind of one inspired individual. Dr. Porsche and Gordon Buehrig are probably in heaven r. now, comparing notes.

The guy has been there for a few years in a row. I want one of these things.

I didn't take pics of many mustangs because im not really a Mustang fan. Don't get me wrong I love American Muscle but all the Mustangs were pretty much the same to me. Every other mustang had the typical aluminum torq-thrusts but there were a few that really stood out. I should have snapped some pics of the plethora of GT350's though.

    the green TR4?

dont know about the engine but it had a rollbar, some pretty sweet alloys(no brand that i could see), and
had a rare targa top that is also called a "surrey top"

Not much more i can tell you sorry.

Me too. The Islero is absolutely jaw dropping, I have never seen one. My desire for an Italian V12 GT may be my ruin. The Ferrari's are stunning as well.

OP, did you get any pics of the yellow Jeep CJ? So rare so see a stock CJ these days.

Sorry didn't get pics of the CJ i didn't even really think about the rarity of a clean CJ at the time. In retrospect i wish i had just taken pics of every there.

    Oh well

When I first checked this thread out, this 6 series really caught my eye...

So just now I was on eBay and found it listed, starting bid is $500k: I'd rock it. Like it or hate it, the attention to detail is impressive.

Ok maybe I just can't see it well cause I'm visiting family and on a computer with an offensively low resolution, but what is this?

Agreed. It's a nice car (save for some minor details) but as a six series owner myself I am inclined to create a new eBay account and end his auction with BIN. What a turd burglar.
